Our Story

437 Years of Brewing MOCCA Coffee

The name “MOCCA Majesty” is a tribute to both the heritage and excellence of Yemeni coffee. “MOCCA” refers to the port city of Mocha (or Al-Makha) in Yemen, a historic trade center where coffee culture first blossomed. Dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, Mocha was the global coffee hub, famed for beans that introduced the world to the magic of coffee. This name celebrates Mocha’s legacy, which still captivates coffee enthusiasts with its distinct flavors and aromas. “Majesty” conveys regality and quality, symbolizing MOCCA Majesty’s dedication to delivering a premium coffee experience.

The story of Yemeni coffee is as rich as its taste. Coffee cultivation in Yemen began over five centuries ago, with Yemeni traders being among the first to spread coffee outside the Arabian Peninsula. The beans, grown in Yemen’s mountainous regions like Haraz, Sumarah, and Hajja, developed a unique profile due to the high altitudes, dry climate, and traditional farming techniques. This heritage led to a coffee profile renowned for its chocolatey undertones, fruity complexity, and unmistakable aroma.

At MOCCA Majesty, we honor this tradition by partnering directly with Yemeni farmers who cultivate coffee as their ancestors did, by hand and with care. Each batch reflects the terroir of Yemen’s highlands, delivering a cup that is not only rich in flavor but also in history and culture. Through MOCCA Majesty, we aim to preserve and share the essence of Yemeni coffee with the world.
